We’re Committed To Sustainable Veterinary Healthcare
At SageTech Veterinary, we are committed to eliminating waste, pollution and unnecessary environmental harm caused by volatile anaesthetic agents.
Our mission is to provide veterinary clinics with a safe, sustainable and easy to use solution for the capture, recovery and recycling of these agents, to lower their carbon footprint, and help to protect the planet for future generations.
The Problem:
Sustainability
Current veterinary anaesthetic practice allows most waste anaesthetic agent to be directly released to the environment, significantly contributing to the carbon footprint of veterinary healthcare. As potent greenhouse gases, they contribute towards climate change.
The Problem:
Safety
For many years, end terminal filters have been used to capture waste anaesthetic agents. However, these filters bring a risk of workplace exposure to these harmful waste gases if not closely monitored.

The Solution:
SageTech Veterinary
SageTech Veterinary offers a safe, sustainable and easy to use circular economy solution for the capture, recovery and recycling of environmentally harmful waste volatile anaesthetic gases.
The Solution:
SageTech Veterinary offers a safe, sustainable and easy to use circular economy solution for the capture, recovery and recycling of environmentally harmful waste volatile anaesthetic gases.
SageTech Veterinary’s multidisciplinary team have developed an innovative anaesthetic gas capture solution.
Our circular economy solution safely captures available volatile anaesthetic agents (sevoflurane and isoflurane) onto a reusable capture canister (VET-Can) that is housed inside a capture device (VET-Dock) that integrates easily into existing anaesthetic equipment.
The solution has a unique system that eliminates risk by constant monitoring of volatile capture, leading to alerts when full and providing a safer working environment for clinical staff.
SageTech Veterinary offers a fully managed service to include the installation of VET-Docks into clinical settings, alongside their annual service and calibration. The VET-Can is purchased through all major veterinary wholesalers, who will also manage the delivery of empty VET-Cans and the collection of full VET-Cans through their existing logistics infrastructure.
The extracted agents will then be purified and recycled for future clinical reuse (subject to regulatory approval). This will reduce the need for virgin drug manufacture and help to conserve raw materials, therefore further lowering the carbon footprint associated with volatile anaesthetics.
Key Benefits:
- Simple to install and easy to use
- Compatible with all anaesthetic circuit setups
- Integrates without any alteration to anaesthetic delivery
- Safety alarm system that constantly monitors canister fill level to prevent staff exposure
Key Benefits:
- Reusable, lightweight, and recyclable at end of life
- Safe to handle, store, and transport
- Unique identifier for canister tracking and traceability
- Large capacity for fewer canister exchanges
- Easy canister exchange procedure
